"I was introduced to jewelry making in high school metals class. I enjoyed it so much, that I signed up for additional classes at Ghost Ranch in Abique, New Mexico. Around the same time I began learning advanced beadwork from books that I acquired. I loved to make jewelry out of any material, and I never grew tired of it! When I got to college I wasn't sure what type of arts degree to pursue. As I wandered through the halls of the Art Building searching for my class as a freshman, I heard familiar sounds, "tink tink tink" of hammers, "brrrrrr" of a drill press, and the high pitch of a hand saw piercing through metal sheet. I immediately realized that this was the program I needed to be in. Now out of school, I am working to establish my place within the field of contemporary art jewelry."
